For the third consecutive week Sharlston Rovers posted 46 points on their opponents. This weekend saw the first teams opening away fixture on the long road to newly promoted Keighley.

A tight encounter was expected with last years 12-0 nip and tuck Yorkshire Cup Quarter final victory fresh in the mind.

The opening exchanges were close and their wasn’t much between the teams at half time with Sharlston leading 18-6 with tries from Steve Dooler, Lee Lingard and Sean Emblem all goaled by new signing winger Luke Beecher.

Like the 2 previous opening fixtures Rovers used their supreme fitness levels to go clear with another 5 converted tries from Danny Glasseell x2, Danny Richardson, Luke Beecher and Brian Sutton.

This Weekend Sharlston Rovers are on the road again with a trip to last years National Cup Final opponents Wibsey Warriors.

Sharlston welcome back into selection this week Scott Glassell and Adam Coates who were both missing from the Keighley victory.

The Bradford based opponents will be seeking revenge after Rovers handed out a heart breaking last minute drop goal to seal National cup glory in the last match of the season, Kick Off 2.30pm.
