Sharlston customary run-in begins
For Sharlston Rovers the season climax wouldn’t be normal without the traditional rush to get all league fixtures completed before the customary May deadline.
Several postponements and success in all cup competitions means Rovers along with Wibsey Warriors still have 7 league fixtures to cram in.
Rovers currently sit fourth in a congested top tier, trailing the top spot by only 2 league points. Sharlston are still confident of bagging the premier league champions title having at least 2 games in hand of Old Boys, Drighlington and 4 games in hand on top spot occupiers Queens.
Midweek fixtures start next week on Tuesday 9th April at home to Wibsey Warriors with a 7pm kick off. The Bradford based team took the spoils in the encounter on their home ground earlier in the season so Rovers will be keen to reap revenge and continue the championship push.
Rovers are now in the Pennine Presidents Cup final and will face Drighlington on Bank Holiday Monday (6th May) at a change of venue - Mount Pleasant Batley.
