at Keepmoat Stadium
SHARLSTON Rovers couldn't cause a Carnegie Challenge Cup upset at the Keepmoat Stadium as Doncaster overpowered the Wakefield amateur side in the third round.
Dons centre Lee Waterman was the star of the show, crossing the whitewash six times as the Co-operative Championship 1 hosts eased to a 57-10 win and a place in the next round of the prestigious competition.
Former Sandal RUFC winger Tom Hodson and Kieran Hyde, on a dual contract deal from Wakefield Trinity Wildcats, both crossed twice for Tony Miller's men and Stu Sanderson also got on the try-scoring sheet.
Danny Glassell and Geoff Hick replied for the Pennine League visitors, who got themselves back in the game midway through the first-half after the hosts crossed four times in the opening 20 minutes. Those four tries set the tone for the afternoon as Rovers battled hard but couldn't match their professional opponents.
