Rovers to play Dewsbury re-union match this Sunday

Sharlston Rovers have come to the aid of local gymnast Ashleigh Long in raising funds to compete in the World Age Group Championships. Gordie Long, father of Ashleigh and Rovers legend has arranged a mouth-watering one-off fundraiser game this coming Sunday 30th October.

Long has called upon his Rovers team mates from the historical 2004 Challenge cup professional scalp of Dewsbury Rams to face a select of current Sharlston players plus some special guest appearances of former players.
The fundraising re-union match which is expected to pull in a large crowd will kick off 12pm at the Weeland road ground followed by an afternoon at the races on the big screen in the clubhouse. There will also be an auction of sporting memorabilia following the 8 races of fundraiser betting.
