Already chasing fixtures due to Yorkshire cup commitments Sharlston Rovers made some ground on league leaders Siddal A and Drighlington with a second half romp over Elland after trailing at the interval.
Rovers eventually run in 8 unanswered tries in the second half but the first half was like a different game as the visitors took the initial lead with Dean Avis nipping over. Sharlston had plenty of opportunity to reply throughout but several errors key position left chances begging.
The hosts eventually levelled the scores when Criage Miles went over 5 minutes before the interval and Tommy Malyan slotted over the goal. The lead was to be short lived as Elland regained the advantage on the last play of the half with Oli Fairbank getting on the end of a deep kick from a scrum, although the speedy winger was way in front of the kicker the try stood and Fairbank added the conversion.
From the break emerged a different side altogether as Rovers wasted no time on getting back into the game when 2 minutes in Carl Saville showed his class to go in under the sticks, Malyan converting. In quick succession Rovers pushed forward to take the lead for the first time of the game as Criage Miles again proved unstoppable, Malyan on target with the boot.
Rovers now back into their usual attacking form quickly turned that small lead into the winning result by the hour mark as they raced in for 3 more scores with Lee Maskill, Steve Hall getting over the whitewash and Saville completing his brace. Malyan adding one of goals before Hill took over kicking duties and adding the other 2.
With Elland pretty much dead and buried Rovers closed the final 10 minutes with a trio have touchdowns as Adam Jones nipped over from half back, Craige Miles completing his hat trick and Gareth Davies getting in on the action to close a white hot second half performance, Hill adding 2 of the 3 attempts.
